Mapulanga Francisco Vitsitsi was born on 16 June, 1979 at St Gabrielles Hospital in Lilongwe, Liwinga village Traditional Authority Kalolo,he is from a family of 8 and he is a fourth born, four brothers and four sisters.
Mapulanga Francisco Vitsitsi grew up at the village from a very poor background and did his primary and secondary school at Mkoko, Chileka and Chibavi Community Secondary School respectively.
He is married to Lucy Kanyenda and have two kids Praise and Favour Vitsitsi. Francisco holds Batchelors Degree in Social Work specialized in Project Management Monitoring and Evaluation from DMI University and he is currently working with St John of God Hospitaller Services in Mzuzu since 2011.
He started singing in a choir in 1993 back home and proceeded in Mzuzu when he joined Mzuzu CCAP Joint Choir led by Rev Chimwemwe Mhango in the year 2000. “Rev Chimwemwe Mhango has taught me so many things in music and infact he is the one who drilled me” said Mapulanga. Later in 2003 he joined St Andrews CCAP Church Choir in Mzuzu where he contributed one song in their first album that was recorded in 2004 at Pro-Sounds Studio by Ralph Ching’amba. Another Album was recorded in 2006 with 10 songs but he contributed 8 songs which were his compositions. In 2008 he recorded a Solo album called Pachoko Pachoko which had a mixture of studio engineers, Ralph Ching’amba and Luke Tembo. The album was a success and was successfully launched in 2009 at Chenda Hotel. In 2010 he recorded another album with St Andrews CCAP Redemption Choir called Linga Lithu at Ralph Records with Ralph Ching’amba, in this album he composed all the songs, in 2013 he recorded his second Solo album called Ndi Chisomo at Ralph Records Studio with Ralph Ching’amba again and in 2016 he recorded another album with St Andrews CCAP Redemption Choir called Mundipokelere which was a hot album and was successfully launched in 2018. In 2020 he recorded a single called Oyera, in 2024 another Single called Siwina Ayi. Francisco he is a composer, arranger and plays a Keyboard.
