Born on 30 April 1990 a first born son in a family of four 4 boys. Vitumbiko Munthali came into the limelight with his hit songs titled “Made a way, Do Miracles ft Lulu, Alleluia worship medley ft Ruth Missi Thindwa and Kondwani Chirwa.” He started doing professional music in September 2017. Vitumbiko comes from T/A Nthalire in Chitipa where he was born.
As an artist, Vitumbiko has four Gospel albums namely; Nothing dies in your presence, Made a way, Kulibe wina and Fill me which were finalized in August 2023. Currently he is working on a single Titled ” National Anthem ” which he has featured Kondwani Chirwa and Lawrence Khwisa a.k.a Lulu as part of the upcoming fifth album which will be released on 23 January 2024.
The gospel fraternity expects more from Vitumbiko since he has produced a good song after another. His musical graph is peaking each and every day. He produced his first album Nothing dies in your presence in September 2018 recorded at Mathumela Studios and it was mixed, mastered and produced by Lulu, He released his second album in September 2019 titled Made a way recorded at Mathumela studios and it was mixed, mastered and produced by Lulu in Lilongwe. He released his third album in September 2022 titled Kulibe wina recorded at Mathumela Studios and it was mixed, mastered and produced by Lulu in Lilongwe, except for Alleluia ft Ruth Missi Thindwa, We glorify ft Ruth missi Thindwa, Angels Bow ft Kondwani Chirwa, Lord I just love you ft Kondwani Chirwa and thou art God was recorded at one Heart Studios and it was mixed, mastered and produced by Lloyd Phiri. He released his fourth album in august 2023 titled Fill me which was recorded at CL Touch Studio and it was mixed, mastered and produced by Viwe Chibwana, while track number 6 to track number 10 was recorded, mixed, mastered and produced by Lulu.
Vitumbiko was inspired by Bishop Benjamin Dube, Sinachi, Steve Crown, Chitheka Family, Ethel Kamwendo Banda and Joshua Generations just to mention a few.
Currently Vitumbiko stays in western part of Lilongwe along Mchinji road. He has been staying in Lilongwe since he was standard two. He is married to Charity Khanyiwe Gondwe and their marriage is blessed with two children; Sibusiso and Shalom (daughter).
Vitumbiko launched his album titled Made a way on 27th August 2023 at Golden Peacock Hotel in Lilongwe the capital city of Malawi.
He did his primary school at Takukulandira private school in Lilongwe, and did his secondary school at Kaphuka private in Blantyre. He did his Bachelor of Science degree in Optometry at Mzuzu university, SD University Certificate for Grading for Diabetic Retinopathy Screening from University of Gloucestershire in the United Kingdom and University Certificate in Preceptorsship and Clinical Teaching from Mzuzu University, Diploma in Christian leadership and ministry from Hope school of Ministry.
Vitumbiko Munthali is an Optometrist working at Kamuzu Central Hospital for the past 9 years. Vitumbiko is a member and a pastor of the Pentecost International Christian Centre Church in area 49 Lilongwe.Apart from music Vitumbiko is an author, entrepreneur and event planner. He has once worked with Malawi Epidemiology and Intervention Research Unit (MEIRU) (formerly Karonga Prevention study) between 2016 to 2018.Vitumbiko is a member of the Musicians Union of Malawi (MUM) and Copyright Society of Malawi (Cosoma).
